Next up in our 30 by 30 project are two projects we completed in Yazovki adult asylum.

Yazovki is an institution for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities with over 300 residents. Approximately 75km south east of Minsk, Yazovki is quite near Cherven. In fact, a lot of children from Cherven move through the system on to Yazovki. We’ve worked with Yazovki for many years, assisting them on several projects big and small. Our biggest without doubt was the building of an independent living home that was the brainchild and dream of BCP volunteer Edel Smith which opened in 2015.
This year we have assisted them with materials for their greenhouse which they built to facilitate growing even more of their own foods.
We also facilitated the upgrade and repair of the TB unit. We purchased materials needed and carried out a large portion of the manual labour. None of which would have been possible without our Yuri of course! The hardest working man in Belarus. Yuri is always on hand willing to get stuck into the next building/renovation project. Thank you Yuri!
Another side quest recently was to replace some hens as unfortunately the hens in Yazovki had an unfortunate accident with a dog. We got some rescue hens who have settled in nicely to their new home in Yazovki.
