| On Saturday 29th of September the troops were gathering in Ennistymon once again to load the 109th truck of humanitarian aid for Belarus. For more details and photos see below. |  |
It is a lengthy process and a huge effort by many to organise a 45 foot container of humanitarian aid. The aid is gathered and donated by people from all over Ireland. Packed and sorted, counted, loaded, shipped, unloaded, cleared and distributed. Many steps, many hands, lots of paperwork, many hours. This truck was no different.
It wasn't our speediest load but it contained some heavy items and many smaller medical supplies. Shipment 109 contained twelve and a half tons of aid!!!
Clothes, shoes, pampers (adult and child), bed clothes, medical supplies including a huge donation of gloves from Galway, hospital beds and mattresses from Cahercalla, disability aids, walking frames, wheelchairs, standing frames, furniture, bicycles, stationary, toys, plus Christmas presents for the children.
Thank you to all our wonderful supporters who donated and gathered it all.
Thank you to our gallant volunteers of all ages who were there on Saturday. A special mention to our junior volunteers who were fantastic workers on the day and had great fun!
Thank you to those whose prepared a beautiful spread of sandwiches, sausages, tarts, cakes, eclairs, scones with tea and coffee in plenty supply to feed the hungry loaders.
Shipping from Cork today, on to Rotterdam, then Klaipeda in Lithuania. The truck will then be picked up and brought to Minsk, due to arrive in Dom Zara on the 15th where it will be unloaded and cleared for distribution by our fantastic team in Belarus.
