| All of us here at Burren Chernobyl Project were very saddened to hear of the passing of Betty Crosbie recently, an incredible woman from Killarney who showed compassion and generosity to so many in Belarus. "I was very sad to hear of the death of Betty Crosbie, one great lady with great courage, great determination and hard work, and all with a great big smile.
One of the greatest supporters of children in Belarus and a great supporter of Burren Chernobyl, Betty never failed in her encouragement and in her calls. She always sent funds to help with each truckload we sent. Her front room was always filled with donated goods and Betty was always packing. Indeed with every truck being loaded in Ennistymon and then being unloaded in Minsk, everyone knew Betty’s bags.
It was great to have known Betty and in her own quiet way she inspires us all to keep going for as long as we can. Life will not be the same without Betty Crosbie, bless her!
